We are a husband-and-wife team building custom cabinets for families across Fairfax County. No shortcuts, no runaround, just honest work.
Fairfax Custom Cabinets was founded by Carlos and Elena Reyes, a husband-and-wife team who saw a better way to serve homeowners in Fairfax County. Carlos brings 16 years of hands-on experience in cabinetry and construction, while Elena manages design consultations and client relations.
Before starting Fairfax Custom Cabinets, Carlos spent years working for a large cabinet company. He built hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms, and built-ins across Northern Virginia. But the bigger the company got, the less attention each homeowner received. Corners got cut. Communication suffered. Carlos knew he could do better on his own.
Elena had been working in client services and saw the same problems from the customer side. Homeowners were frustrated by vague timelines, surprise costs, and contractors who stopped returning calls halfway through a project. Together, they built Fairfax Custom Cabinets around a simple idea: treat every project like it is your own home.
Fairfax County has one of the most varied housing stocks in the region. From 1960s ramblers and split-levels in Burke and Springfield to newer construction in Centreville and Chantilly, we have worked in just about every type of home here.
That experience matters. We understand the quirks of older Fairfax County homes: the low ceilings in split-level kitchens, the awkward pantry layouts in ramblers, the undersized bathrooms in colonials built before the 1980s. We also know the expectations of homeowners in newer developments who want something better than builder-grade stock cabinets.
Whether you are updating a home you have lived in for 30 years or finishing a house you just moved into, we design cabinets that fit your space, your family, and your daily routine.
These are the principles behind every cabinet we build and every conversation we have with our clients.
Carlos and Elena are involved in every project. You are not handed off to a sales rep or a random subcontractor. The people who own the company are the people who manage your project.
We give you a clear price upfront and a realistic timeline before we start. If something changes, you hear about it from us immediately. No surprises, no fine print, no games.
We design cabinets around how your family actually uses your home. That means practical storage, durable materials, and layouts that make daily routines easier instead of harder.
From the first phone call to the final walkthrough, here is what working with Fairfax Custom Cabinets looks like.
We come to your home, look at the space, listen to what you need, and take detailed measurements. Elena walks you through design options and Carlos assesses the structural requirements. This visit is completely free with no obligation.
We create a detailed 3D rendering of your new cabinets so you can see exactly what they will look like in your space before we build anything. You also receive a written quote with no hidden costs. Revisions are included until you are completely satisfied.
Once you approve the design, our team builds your cabinets using premium hardwoods, furniture-grade plywood, and soft-close hardware. Every piece is built to your exact specifications. We provide weekly progress updates throughout fabrication.
Our own crew handles every installation. We shim, level, and align each cabinet for a perfect fit. Doors and drawers are fine-tuned on site. We do a final walkthrough with you before we leave to make sure everything meets your expectations.
